"How to Grow a Giant Pumpkin" Seminar - Sat Mar 28

Come one, Come all, to the FREE “How To Grow a Giant Pumpkin” seminar being sponsored by the Ione Business and Community Association THIS SATURDAY, March 28 at the Ione Welcome Center (formerly the JTS Sales Pavilion, aka “Pride of Ione” bldg.) 10am – 12noon.  Randy Warren, winner of grand prize $1,000 each of the last three years, will be giving away giant pumpkin seeds and sharing with local growers the secrets of growing a giant pumpkin!

Join us for the 17th Annual Celebrate Our Children event, celebrating the National 'Week of the Young Child.' Bring the whole family to enjoy this free festival, which will include lots of booths to visit, fun activities, free food, music, and stories! Please consider bringing canned food or paper bags for the Interfaith Food Bank. Celebrate Our Children event will be held rain or shine! Free bus service to the event provided by Amador Transit! Master Gardeners Present "Life After Lawn" - Sat Mar 21

The UCCE Amador County Master Gardeners will present a free water-wise gardening class on Saturday, March 21 from 9am to noon.  Join Master Gardeners Gail Sweet, Karen Friis, and Alan Vosburgh as they show you how to convert your lawn into a colorful, edible landscape.  You will also learn about vibrant natives and other drought-tolerant plants that require little water.  See the 100 All Star Flowers from UC Davis, shrubs, and trees specially designated for our region and soil.  This class is open to the public and is being held at the Amador County GSA Building, 12200-B Airport Road in Jackson.  Some plants will be available for purchase.
